Our story

From New Zealand's First Cloud Provider to AI

OneNet is a 100% New Zealand-owned and operated managed service provider and Tier 1 Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider. Since 2000, when it became New Zealand's first cloud service provider, it has run cloud, security and infrastructure for hundreds of organisations across Australasia.

Through that work, we've seen what AI can do, and we know every business will need it. Doing AI well takes full focus, so OneNet built OneNet AI: an independent company dedicated to delivering AI for New Zealand organisations.

Our heritage

Four Decades of Pioneering Technology

The same founders have been early to every major shift in business technology: enterprise systems in the 1980s, global software in the 1990s and cloud in 2000. AI is the next shift, and OneNet AI was built for it.

  1. 1983Financial Systems Limited is founded, an inaugural New Zealand IBM Business Partner.
  2. 1992Great Elk launches global CRM software, later used by Eli Lilly, Roche and 3M.
  3. 1999Great Elk delivers one of the world's first SaaS products, a year before Salesforce.
  4. 2000OneNet is founded, New Zealand's first cloud service provider.
  5. 2020OneNet achieves ISO 27001 certification.
  6. 2025OneNet AI is established to bring governed, practical AI to New Zealand organisations.
